About me
Hello, my name is Debbie (Debs) (she/her) and I am a qualified and insured Person-centred counsellor.
I have always been drawn towards helping people and in my past career, I worked in the care sector for 28 years, supporting children and adults with a learning difference, disability and mental health. As a result of this, I decided to go back to university and I gained my Post Graduate Diploma in Person-centred counselling.
I work mainly as a Person-Centred counsellor but integrate other approaches when appropriate and helpful. Person-Centred therapy is based on the philosophy that each human is of value and has the potential for psychological change, growth and increased personal fulfilment. I will seek to establish a safe ‘therapeutic relationship’ with you in order to help resolve whatever troubles you have, and work toward finding a better way forward in your life.
I offer weekly, fortnightly or monthly sessions. Sessions last for 50 minutes. Sessions can be held through the online line platform Zoom, FaceTime or by telephone.
If a client choses online therapy and there is a technical breakdown, I shall use an alternative method and continue the session over the phone.
